WITH ALL THE EXCITEMENT SURROUNDING THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SEVENTH CHAMPION, I THOUGHT I’D PULL TOGETHER ALL THE QUESTIONS COMING MY WAY IN ONE HANDY PLACE:

Question: So . . . what kind of a reading experience is this book?

Answer: This book was written to be pure fun.

My question to myself was, “Can I write a romantasy with all the fun tropey vibes of The Love Hypothesis while still bringing all the high stakes epicness I crave?”

The answer is: Yes.

The result is The Seventh Champion. It’s got demonic dragons, kingdoms at war, invasion forces, and desperate last stand bids to save the world . . . but the crux of the story is the grumpy/sunshine romance blossoming between my optimistic dragon-girl and the assassin determined to end her (if he can just manage to not fall in love with her first).

I had an awful lot of fun coming up with this story, and I think you’re going to enjoy every moment you spend with these two MCs of mine.

Question: What are the tropes?

Answer: Oh, so many! But here are my THREE favorites:

Question: How long is this story?

Answer: The Seventh Champion is 130K words and is the first of a duology! I’d like to say book 2 will be about the same size but . . . she might get a little bigger . . .

Question: When will the two books release?

Answer: The Seventh Champion launches November 11, 2025! (Book 2 will follow in autumn 2026)

Question: Who is the cover artist?

Answer: Charlie Bowater . . . and I’m still PINCHING MYSELF!!!

When the good folks at Ace asked who would be my top choice to bring this cover to life, I immediately requested Charlie but didn’t think there was any chance of it actually happening. AND YET HERE WE ARE!!!

Every sketch she submitted was better than the last, and the final image is RIDICULOUSLY beautiful. I still can’t believe it’s my book!

Question: Does this book relate to any of your other series/worlds?

Answer: Nope, this one is all new! It’s been a lot of fun to create a whole new lore and magic system, all those fun worldbuilding elements that make the experience so delicious.

Question: Is it spicy?

Answer: Book 1 is not (though it’s definitely ROMANTIC and there are several squee-worthy scenes to make you blush).

Book 2 is looking as though it will get spicier . . . I let each story dictate the spice levels, so I never know for sure until I write it.

Question: So are you a fulltime Trad Author now?

Answer: No, I’m definitely a hybrid author at the moment—I write and publish both indie and trad. Which is a balancing act, I won’t lie! But I love the opportunities afforded via both modes of publication and am grateful for the chance to do both at this time.

Question: Can I support this launch?
